Wednesday, October 30th, 2013
Blackjack players are fond of aces, picture cards, and tens, and if they can somehow figure out how many such cards a 6-deck shoe might have in the middle of a blackjack game, they stand a better chance of winning.
Here is a simple method to keep track of such cards by simply focusing on cards that favor the croupier—fours, sixes, and fives. Mathematicians have already shown how fours, sixes, and fives can help the dealer create strong hands, especially as blackjack rules require dealers to hit on 14, 15, and 16. Players, on the other hand, have more flexibility as they can stand on 14, 15, and 16 in the hopes that the dealer will go bust.
Each deck comprises 12 fours, fives, and sixes, which means that six decks with have 72 of each of these cards. This constitutes around 23 percent of all the cards. Twenty-three, therefore, is the magic number. About 23 fours, fives, and sixes ought to have been dealt after playing two decks in order to keep the game balanced. If less have been dealt, the game is in favor of the house; and if more have been dealt, the game is in favor of the player.

Friday, October 25th, 2013
A blackjack player who had offered to pay a huge sum of $200,000 to a DJ called Deadmau5 for playing a Bon Jovi song at a nightclub based in Las Vegas refused to pay up as he had lost his blackjack game. The issue led to a mess, which is now being sorted at a Nevada federal court.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the blackjack player, Don Johnson, is an important customer of Wynn Casino as he used to spend anywhere between $100,000 and $500,000 playing blackjack and other casino games. The high-stakes player is also the chief executive officer of Heritage Development. During a period of just four months, he had won $6 million gambling at Tropicana Casino, $4 million at Caesars Casino, and $5 million at Borgata Casino.
When Johnson refused to pay the promised $200,000 to the DJ, Deadmau5’s talent agency and the owner of the nightclub paid him. The issue appeared to have been resolved, but the owner of the nightclub sued the talent agency for inability to repay $50,000, the amount he had contributed toward Deadmau5’s payment.
According to the court papers, the two parties plan to sign a settlement deal soon. The owner of the nightclub says that the event is ridiculous.

Importance of Playing Free Blackjack
Tuesday, October 22nd, 2013
Blackjack has a low house edge, but players cannot always expect to win at blackjack. Players should therefore make the most of their visits to the casino by implementing proper gaming strategies and bankroll management strategies. They should understand that they need not necessarily make money every time they visit a casino, owing to which they must focus more on having fun than on winning.
One of the things blackjack players must focus on while playing blackjack is to use the correct blackjack gaming strategies. If players are still not comfortable playing blackjack for real money, they should practice as much as they can by playing blackjack games for free. There are plenty of fun play blackjack gaming apps in the market, and players can download them on their mobile devices free of charge. They can then practice their favorite variants on the move, focusing on one variant at a time to avoid confusion.
If players invest a lot of time and energy in playing the game for free, they can enjoy real money blackjack games better, especially the social aspects of the game. They can socialize as they play and do not have to focus on their cards all the time.

Fortunately for the Senator, he was playing for fun otherwise he might have gotten into serious trouble considering the fact that playing real money mobile poker outside Nevada is illegal.
Tim Giardina now stands guilty of a Class D Felony, according to Iowa’s gambling laws. Although he was suspended on September 3, news of his suspension leaked out only on September 28. Maine Approves Introduction of Spanish 21 in Oxford Casino
Thursday, October 3rd, 2013
The Maine Gambling Control Board has approved the introduction of Spanish 21 to the portfolio of table games at Oxford Casino at a board meeting held on Tuesday.
The rules of Spanish 21 are similar to those of standard blackjack, but there are slight differences that set the two games apart. Spanish 21 is played with decks from which the ten cards are removed; besides, the betting rules vary greatly.
According to Patrick Fleming, executive director for the Gambling Control Board, Oxford Casino acquired the rights to Spanish 21 from another company.
Jack Sours, general manager and vice president of Oxford Casino, said that the casino decided to introduce Spanish 21 on player demand, adding that the casino expects the game to become very popular. He also stated that a blackjack table in the casino will be used for Spanish 21.
A dealer from Oxford Casino was about to demonstrate the game, but Matt Dyer, a member on the board, said that there is no need for it, adding that it is more important to know if the game is approved in other states. If the game was approved by other states, the board need not think twice about approving it, he said.

Thursday, September 26th, 2013
A woman, who used to work as the blackjack dealer in a local casino, pleaded guilty of embezzling funds. According to the prosecutor, she will have to pay around $85,000 to the casino.
The former croupier, Misty Lynn White (28) of Sapulpa, confessed that she had embezzled funds in the months of January and February when she was under the employment of the Tulsa-based Osage Casino.
According to Shannon Cozzoni, the assistant US attorney, White had helped one of the casino players win blackjack games by stealthily showing him her face-down cards. Julia O’Connell, the federal public defense lawyer, said that White used to receive a small payment for her services.
Cozzoni said that the casino fired White after her surreptitious activities were caught on the casino’s video cameras. Stating that the total loss to the casino because of White’s activities is not yet known, Cozzoni said that White had helped the man win as much as $6,000 one day.
White could get a prison term as long as 20 years, but federal guidelines on sentencing might give her only 18 months. She is currently out on bail, and the final verdict on the embezzlement case will be delivered on December 10.
