Tuesday, January 21st, 2014
Besides using basic blackjack strategy, blackjack players need to keep track of the cards dealt as blackjack odds keep fluctuating.
The best blackjack players not only have excellent mathematical skills, but also spend several hours practicing. However, recreational blackjack players can use methods that can give them a fair idea of the cards that have already been dealt although these methods aren’t as good as those used by blackjack pros.
Besides watching the cards in their own hands, blackjack players must make a mental note of the cards dealt to all the other players. Whenever a new game starts, players should keep track of the number of aces and ten cards that have already been dealt. If 38 aces and ten value cards have been dealt after playing two decks, the house advantage is the same and hasn’t slipped in favor of either the player or the house. If less than 38 tens and aces have been dealt, players stand a better chance of getting blackjack.
Players will greatly improve their odds of winning if they keep separately track of the aces dealt. In case of a six-deck blackjack game, the house edge remains even after playing two decks if only 8 aces have been dealt.

Representative Scott Slater Wins Twin River Charity Blackjack Event
Wednesday, January 15th, 2014
Over a dozen lawmakers of the state of Rhode Island took part in a charity blackjack event organized by Twin River Casino. The champion of this event, which happened to be the first of its kind at the casino, was Representative Scott Slater, who won a prize of $10k for his achievements. The entire amount was directed to the Assumption Church Food Pantry, a charity he wanted to donate to.
The charity blackjack event comprised six round tables at which the participants played blackjack till a winner emerged for each table. The six winners were then given an opportunity to take part in the final championship event, where they played another game of blackjack to determine the overall winner of the event.
Twin River Casino distributed $60,000 among 36 charities, including the Rhode Island Brain and Spine Tumor Foundation, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, the Rhode Island Academic Decathlon, the Hearthside House in Lincoln, the Kent County YMCA, the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Rhode Island, Crossroads, Inspiring Minds, St. Mary’s Feast Society, and Woodlawn Catholic Regional School.
Among the participants were 16 general assembly members, including Dominick J. Ruggerio, the leader of the senate majority, and Gordon Fox, the speaker of the house.

Popular Blackjack Casino O’Sheas to Launches
Monday, January 13th, 2014
O’Sheas, a casino and bar based in Las Vegas, launched on Dec 27, giving blackjack players a place to play their favorite game. It will re-open at Linq Complex, which will include shopping facilities, restaurants, and bars.
O’Sheas was popular not only for its cheap blackjack games, but also low limit Texas Hold’em games, cheap drinks, and beer pong. But while the previous O’Sheas offered only 6 to 5 blackjack games, the new O’Sheas will offer this payout only at one table.
The bar and casino, which used to be sandwiched between Imperial Palace and Flamingo, closed its doors on April 30, 2012 so that the Imperial Palace, which is now called The Quad, could be expanded. The former O’Sheas location is now an excellent venue for table games and offers plenty of 6 to 5 blackjack games, craps, roulette, and Three Card Poker.
The other shops in the Linq Complex will also be thrown open on Dec 27. Two of these shops are Purple Zebra and Haute Doggery. Some more shops, such as the Yard House, will be opened early in February 2014. Restaurants such as Flour and Barley and Tilted Kilt are also expected to open in February.

Odds of Blackjack Winners Getting another Blackjack
Wednesday, January 8th, 2014
The possibility of a player getting two blackjacks one after the other depends on the cards dealt to all the players at the table.
If a game of blackjack uses six decks, there would be a total of 312 cards. The aces would be 7.7 percent, while the ten cards would be 30.7 percent. If one takes into consideration only those cards dealt to the player who just got blackjack, 310 cards would be left in the deck with 30.6 percent ten cards and 7.4 percent aces. This means that the same player’s chances of getting another blackjack will decline.
If there are eight at the table, including six other blackjack players and the dealer, they would be dealt 26 cards from the deck. If one of those 26 cards dealt was an Ace and five were ten cards, 286 cards would be left in the deck with 8 percent aces and 31.8 percent ten cards. Under these circumstances, a player’s chances of getting another blackjack get better.
One can never say exactly how many blackjack cards are left in the deck. It may or may not be rich in aces and tens. A player can be sure only if he/she uses proper card counting techniques.

Why Players Should Play Blackjack in Quieter Places
Monday, December 30th, 2013
A distracted gambler is usually not a good gambler. Most gamblers know how to handle distractions as casinos are never free of them. While 6:5 blackjack games are located in the noisiest parts of the casino, the 3:2 blackjack games are located in quieter zones.
Expert casino players say that blackjack games that are located in quieter places of the casino are easier to play simply because there are no distractions. Players can play a better game not just because the place is quieter, but also because of their player friendly rules. Some blackjack players prefer playing with friends in party pits and hardly check the rules. This is the worst way to play blackjack as players can end up losing a lot of money.
Casinos can also distract players by offering the most player friendly video poker games right at the entrance, where it is very uncomfortable to play. The worst video poker games, on the other hand, are placed in the most comfortable places. Fortunately, not all casinos do this.
While playing blackjack or video poker games at casinos, players must remember their odds of winning games located in places with distractions such as go-go dancers and TVs are very low.

Evolution Gaming Adds Side Bets to Live Dealer Blackjack Games
Friday, December 20th, 2013
Evolution Gaming, the noted provider of live dealer gambling solutions, will introduce side bets to its live blackjack games. As a result, live dealer blackjack variants such as 21+3 and Perfect Pairs will be rolled out by this month end.
The side bets are, however, optional and players can turn the feature on or off whenever they play the games. If enabled, the side bets give players the chance to win as much as 100 times their side bet amounts.
While the aim of the Perfect Pairs player is to get two cards of the same number, color, or suit, the aim of the 21+3 player is to get cards of the same color, number, or suit as the dealer’s exposed card.
The aim of Perfects Pair players is to create colored, mixed, or perfect pairs with the first two cards dealt to them; and the aim of 21+3 players is to combine the first two cards dealt to them with the dealer’s exposed card to create valuable poker hands.
Fredrik Bjurle, product director at Evolution Gaming, said that the new feature has been introduced to strengthen existing opinions of the game as “the fastest, most realistic, and most endlessly engaging live dealer blackjack game available online.”

Why Casinos Offer Six to Five Blackjack Games
Wednesday, December 18th, 2013
Most serious blackjack players claim that 3:2 blackjack is more profitable than 6:5 blackjack. While this is true, one cannot always insist on playing 3:2 blackjack when one is out at the casino playing blackjack with friends who just want to have fun and are least bothered about winning.
While it is better to play 3:2 blackjack games, there is no point in getting obsessed about it. For instance, playing 6:5 blackjack games at The Riviera Casino’s $1 blackjack tables doesn’t really translate into a huge loss for the player. Although there is a 1.38 percent difference in the house edge of The Riviera’s $1 6:5 blackjack games and that of 3:2 blackjack games, it must be noted that the former is offered for only $1. If players make a few quick calculations, they will realize that they will be losing just a few dollars to house in exchange for some fun time with friends.
No smart gambler seeking to make a fortune playing blackjack would choose to play 6:5 blackjack games. However, a casino executive has stated that his casino continues to offer 6:5 blackjack tables because most of the players just do not care; they only want to have fun playing their favorite card game.
