Ex Truck Driver Invents New Blackjack Game Called Quick Seven
Saturday, May 15th, 2010
Larry Cockrell, an ex truck driver from Kenosha recently caught media attention when he created a new game of blackjack called “Quick Seven.” Cockrell believes that the game will soon go into casinos, and get on online casinos and even into mobile gaming.
The goal here is to create a hand of seven and to do it fast. Cockrell cooked this game up seven years ago when he was a truck driver and wanted to go to Vegas. “I was catching up on how to play blackjack, and I started thinking, ‘Wow, it would be nice to discard a card.’ Two years later, Cockrell came up with a scheme of rules that made sense when a blackjack player tried his hand against the dealer. “When you’re driving a concrete truck, you have a lot of time to think…Once I realized it was raw and unique, I saw there was a business opportunity there.” he said.
Once Cockrell had the game structure in order and his fiancée had given it the name Quick Seven, he quit driving and started a company called Innovative Gaming. Today, Cockrell has a good table design and an official U.S. patent and is training dealers at Harrah’s about the game’s rules.
Patricia McCabe-Clark, manager of casino operations at Harrah’s stated: “Our dealers do a great job selling new games to guests and they have already been spreading the news about ‘Quick Seven.’”
The game is also available at the iTunes app store and is very easy to learn.

At DSI, the multiplayer tables can hold up to six players, and each player can choose whether they would like to bet just the minimum which, is $1, or if they would like to bet up to $100. Players are even allowed to play for free if they so choose.

Blackjack Scammer Frauds Vegas
Thursday, May 6th, 2010
In what appears to be a simple case of incredible hoodwinking, Seyit Ibrahim Yel, a scammer and blackjack player, took several casinos in Las Vegas for a royal ride that cost them several thousands of dollars and himself nothing!
Seyit Ibrahim Yel spent a few weeks in Vegas and posed as a high roller and wealthy businessman called Mustafa Seda. Yel managed to convince several Vegas casinos of his identity and drew out large loans from them on this basis. In addition to his extremely good acting skills, it would appear that Yel was also a good blackjack player, as he gambled with this money and walked out of the casinos without paying any bills.
The few checks that he had written eventually bounced alerting the casinos to what had happened. The reputed Bellagio Casino was one of the victims of Yel who had taken $200,000 from it in two days; the casino filed a lawsuit against him under the name “Seda”. Today, Yel cannot be located and his crimes remain unpunished since it is not possible to serve him under a fictional name.
Online blackjack portals and online casinos know better than to believe a fictional identity and require proof from players before they can register them. Yel had also used accomplices to cash out his chips, another aspect not possible with an online blackjack portal. Indeed, online blackjack sites may be just more reliable than land based casinos!

Crist Signs Billion Dollar Blackjack Deal Without Alerting Press
Wednesday, May 5th, 2010
Charlie Crist, the governor of Florida put the official stamp to the billion dollar blackjack gaming deal with the Seminole Indians this week, when he penned his signature to the document. Surprisingly, the governor did this in a rather quiet manner and did not call for any press to publicize the deal which could result in making the state’s economy richer by a billion dollars. The reason for his decision remains unknown. It is possible that the governor may not have wanted to attract any untoward publicity from the anti-gambling sections of the population to interrupt the deal.
“Today’s bill signing is the last step in a historic effort that benefits both the Seminole Tribe and the entire state of Florida. Following three years of healthy debate and deliberation, the children and families of Florida are now the beneficiaries of much-needed money that will be used to fund critical needs such as education,” said Florida Governor, Charlie Crist.
The governor avoided having a news conference, despite the bill being a major change in legislation and called forth two representatives as his witnesses. Rep. Bill Galvano and Sen. Dennis Jones were the two noted official who were present at the event.
It may be possible that the Crist, will have a press conference later on and perhaps a ceremonial signing of the document for the public in the weeks to come. The deal will give the Seminoles the right to operate slots, blackjack and other table games in their local casinos.

Encore Beach Club Due to Open in May
Sunday, May 2nd, 2010
Sunshine and blackjack don’t typically go together, but Las Vegas casino developer Steve Wynn will give it a shot. On May 22, his Encore hotel will reveal a $70 million facelift, complete with the Encore Beach Club and the Surrender nightclub. While all casinos on The Strip offer gambling, food and entertainment round the clock, Wynn’s renovation lets visitors indulge in all of these amenities, plus sunlight, stargazing and a panorama of the Vegas strip. There are three pools, private cabanas, flat-screen TV’s and air conditioning pumping the breeze inside and out. For gamblers who hate to leave the table but would appreciate some fresh air, the accommodations at the Encore might as well be paradise: there are blackjack and craps tables conveniently stationed alongside the pool.
“We’re setting a new standard here. It’s a night club during the day for people in bikinis and bathing suits,” says Wynn’s business partner Sean Christie.
Adults 21 and older can nestle in the comfort of floating, man-made lily pads or sprawl on day beds bordering the pool. Even during meals guests won’t miss a beat. The hotel restaurant SWITCH features a glass wall divider so diners can have a lively view of the crowd at Surrender nightclub.

Seminole Gambling Deal to Create $7 Billion Revenue for Florida
Friday, April 30th, 2010
The recent million dollar deal that the Seminole Indian tribes signed with the Florida state is expected to have a strong impact on the state’s revenue. This deal will last for two decades and will create a lot of job opportunities and revenue for the state in that time period.
When the Florida House of State signed an agreement authorizing gambling in some select Seminole, most people in the region appeared to take the news well. A few republicans however who are not in favour of gambling have allegedly claimed that the deal would bring in a bad influence to people as it would encourage gaming. Florida will receive$1.3 million for a period of five years and this will mean 7 billion dollars worth of money in twenty years.
The Seminole deal authorizes games like blackjack in its casinos along with slots and this agreement was seen favorably by blackjack enthusiasts who believe that it will create a strong revenue stream for education and help Florida to balance its budget with the fees it will collect from this deal.
It may be possible that this deal with the Seminole Indians will do a lot of good for Florida’s economy. Governor Charlie Crist was responsible for seeing the deal go through and permitted the Seminole casinos to host blackjack games and slots games at all their casinos in the state.
