Thursday, March 31st, 2011
Originally developed for quadriplegics, an eye controlled laptop has become a delight amongst Blackjack card counters. Developed by China’s Lenovo Company, this laptop which can be controlled by movements of the eye will probably soon find its place on Blackjack tables since it serves as a blessing for Blackjack card counters.
The device apparently improves the player’s edge to 49.5% against the house and hence increases the player’s chances of winning. The laptop monitors eye movements, and users can control the cursor, switch between windows, zoom onto images, as well as adjust the brightness of the display by gazing at the laptop. The laptop sends infrared signals to the eyes and its inbuilt camera captures the reflection of the retina.
Based on infrared technology that monitors eye movements, developed by a Swedish company, this eye controlled laptop can help Blackjack card counters who struggle counting cards in their heads. Sadly, this technology is not allowed into gaming legally, but people are counting on the casinos to give them a fair chance once this laptop hits the stores, by allowing them to make use of the laptop legally.
Casinos have to play fair at some time or another, or people will keep coming up with ways to cheat or beat the system, and it might become legal as well.

It is a known fact that alcohol and drug addiction can make people lose themselves. But, that is not what happened to Shi Yin Yin, a young millionaire heir of the Wuxi Diamond Family. Shi Yin Yin who knew the game of blackjack very well lost more than US $230 million while playing Blackjack and Baccarat in China.
Reports now claim that the heir and his family have disappeared after having filed for bankruptcy and lost their entire family fortune. Not only did Shi Yin Yin manage to lose his own family money, he also borrowed $50 million from his father-in-law, who is one of the most powerful members of the Chinese Mafia Syndicate, and lost it all.
Finally, not only is the court looking for the family and its heir, but the mafia is also looking for them so that they can get their money back and teach Shi Yin Yin a lesson.
It is important to realize that playing high stakes Blackjack and Poker games in luxury casinos requires a player’s continuous and complete concentration. Players should also realize that gambling is a form of entertainment and should not be played with money you can’t lose. Some consider online blackjack superior to playing blackjack at brick and mortar casinos. Players have deposit limits and online casinos monitor gambling responsibly. Had Shi Yin Yin tried his hand at online blackjack instead of going in for high stakes games in Macau , he may have still had his fortune!

Blackjack Players Have Screaming Match at High Stakes Blackjack Table
Wednesday, March 16th, 2011
Three intoxicated blackjack players, who have been nicknamed the “Angry Stooges” by the workers of a Native American Casino close to Scottsdale in Arizona, got into an ugly fight at one of the high-stakes blackjack tables of the casino.
Although the casino management knew the trio well for their ugly tempers and bad manners, they tolerated them because of their contributions to the casino profits. In their recent brawl, however, the trio was more agitated than was acceptable. A croupier later said that the yelling captured his attention and he naturally thought that the casino was either being robbed or that someone was having a heart attack. He said that the casino security hustled the three into a private high roller room, where they could argue to their heart’s content without scaring the other customers.
Reportedly, Moe, one of the three, was angry because he hadn’t been lucky with a proposition bet worth $50,000. His friend Larry, on the other hand, was highly elated because an online casino had sent him $62,000, which he had left unclaimed a long time back. The third player nicknamed “Curly” was entertaining himself by pulling Moe’s legs about the bet he had lost. This soon developed into a screaming match, forcing the casino security to intervene.

Blackjack Players Unite Against PA Casinos’ Attempt to Change Odds
Friday, February 25th, 2011
The blackjack community is banding together to oppose the state of Pennsylvania’s proposed casino gaming laws. Currently, Pennsylvania has to gaming measures on the tables that it plans to enforce, and players are not in favor of either of them as it will drastically swing the odds of the game in favor of the casinos. PA casinos are looking to change the odds of a standard blackjack game from a 3-to-2 payout to a 6-to-5 payout. This is a difference of more than a few dollars and although low stakes players may not see the significance of it, both casinos and high stakes players know what it means for each of them. Blackjack games with a 6-to-5 payout are considered to be sucker games, because players do not stand to win all that much and could end up losing more.
Anthony Curtis, an ex professional blackjack player raised this question: “Would customers care if a $9 movie ticket suddenly became $17? That extra $8 will eventually cause movie goers to realize they can’t afford to go to the movies as often or maybe at all.”
The coming together of blackjack players is much like the initial response of the poker community when the UIGEA was instituted. If the blackjack players stick to their guns they may just end up winning the battle for the casinos.
One very distressed player put his foot down and said, “I am a construction worker and been playing blackjack for 40 years for fun, not to become a high-roller. When you muck-up the rules, I and my buddies just won’t play, and instead just play online, or drive elsewhere.”
