Why Players Should Play Blackjack in Quieter Places
December 30th, 2013 by OBO-admin
A distracted gambler is usually not a good gambler. Most gamblers know how to handle distractions as casinos are never free of them. While 6:5 blackjack games are located in the noisiest parts of the casino, the 3:2 blackjack games are located in quieter zones.
Expert casino players say that blackjack games that are located in quieter places of the casino are easier to play simply because there are no distractions. Players can play a better game not just because the place is quieter, but also because of their player friendly rules. Some blackjack players prefer playing with friends in party pits and hardly check the rules. This is the worst way to play blackjack as players can end up losing a lot of money.
Casinos can also distract players by offering the most player friendly video poker games right at the entrance, where it is very uncomfortable to play. The worst video poker games, on the other hand, are placed in the most comfortable places. Fortunately, not all casinos do this.
While playing blackjack or video poker games at casinos, players must remember their odds of winning games located in places with distractions such as go-go dancers and TVs are very low.

David Beckham to Promote Las Vegas Sands’ Services in Asia
December 23rd, 2013 by OBO-admin
According to the terms of an agreement recently signed between football star David Beckham and Las Vegas Sands, the former will promote the latter’s services in the Asian market.
Las Vegas Sands, a giant international gambling company, wants to launch a mobile casino in China, but the gambling laws of that country do not permit mobile casino gaming. The company hopes that Beckham will help attract more and more wealthy Chinese gamblers to Las Vegas Sands’ gambling services.
Since advertising casino gaming services is illegal in China, Las Vegas Sands will not be able to use Beckham to promote their gambling services directly. The company is therefore taking a roundabout route. Beckham will help promote Las Vegas Sands’ retail and entertainment services in Asia and any gamblers who explore these services will be encouraged to try the casino.
Since Beckham is not associated with any mobile sportsbooks, Las Vegas Sands must’ve had a tough time to get him to sign the deal, especially as gambling companies are trying every marketing technique available to grab their share of the Asian market. However, only time can tell exactly what type of influence Beckham will have on Las Vegas Sands’ operations in Asia.

Evolution Gaming Adds Side Bets to Live Dealer Blackjack Games
December 20th, 2013 by OBO-admin
Evolution Gaming, the noted provider of live dealer gambling solutions, will introduce side bets to its live blackjack games. As a result, live dealer blackjack variants such as 21+3 and Perfect Pairs will be rolled out by this month end.
The side bets are, however, optional and players can turn the feature on or off whenever they play the games. If enabled, the side bets give players the chance to win as much as 100 times their side bet amounts.
While the aim of the Perfect Pairs player is to get two cards of the same number, color, or suit, the aim of the 21+3 player is to get cards of the same color, number, or suit as the dealer’s exposed card.
The aim of Perfects Pair players is to create colored, mixed, or perfect pairs with the first two cards dealt to them; and the aim of 21+3 players is to combine the first two cards dealt to them with the dealer’s exposed card to create valuable poker hands.
Fredrik Bjurle, product director at Evolution Gaming, said that the new feature has been introduced to strengthen existing opinions of the game as “the fastest, most realistic, and most endlessly engaging live dealer blackjack game available online.”

Why Casinos Offer Six to Five Blackjack Games
December 18th, 2013 by OBO-admin
Most serious blackjack players claim that 3:2 blackjack is more profitable than 6:5 blackjack. While this is true, one cannot always insist on playing 3:2 blackjack when one is out at the casino playing blackjack with friends who just want to have fun and are least bothered about winning.
While it is better to play 3:2 blackjack games, there is no point in getting obsessed about it. For instance, playing 6:5 blackjack games at The Riviera Casino’s $1 blackjack tables doesn’t really translate into a huge loss for the player. Although there is a 1.38 percent difference in the house edge of The Riviera’s $1 6:5 blackjack games and that of 3:2 blackjack games, it must be noted that the former is offered for only $1. If players make a few quick calculations, they will realize that they will be losing just a few dollars to house in exchange for some fun time with friends.
No smart gambler seeking to make a fortune playing blackjack would choose to play 6:5 blackjack games. However, a casino executive has stated that his casino continues to offer 6:5 blackjack tables because most of the players just do not care; they only want to have fun playing their favorite card game.

Movies to Inspire Blackjack Players
November 22nd, 2013 by OBO-admin
Blackjack has always been a popular card game. Some people argue that it is just a game of luck, but professional poker players, especially those who know how to count cards, argue that it is a game of skill and strategy. They say that one can alter the outcome of a game and bend the odds in one’s favor if one knows how to implement the correct blackjack strategies. Blackjack became popular for a number of reasons. For instance, casino movies, especially those focusing on the game of blackjack such as 21, have contributed a great deal toward the popularity of the game.
The blackjack movie 21, which hit the screens in 2008, features Kevin Spacey in the major role. The movie is based on the true story of a group of students from MIT, who won a lot of money counting cards at the blackjack tables of Las Vegas. The students functioned in two groups. One group counted cards and placed small bets, and when it was time to place big bets, they signaled to the other group, which moved in and began betting huge amounts of money.
This movie also uses Bringing Down the House written by Ben Mezrich as a source of inspiration.
