Cherry Red Casino is offering 10 sign-up bonuses of up to $777 each. So if you sign up at Cherry Red and deposit the maximum allowed of $777, you’d get that same amount added to your player account.

Party Gaming and Bwin Merger?
December 16th, 2009 by OBO-admin
Though both companies have refused comment, several news agencies are reporting that Party Gaming and Bwin are engaged in merger discussions.
The reports, published in the UK’s The Times as well as other publications, have helped increase the cost of both company’s shares, with a 2.5% increase for Party Gaming and 4.1% increase for Bwin, which is a gambling group based in Austria. If the merger is successful, it would create a nearly $4 billion online poker, casino and sports betting company.
Party Gaming has reportedly been looking for an opportunity to create a major sports betting platform for several years. It acquired Gamebookers in 2006 for more than $100 million; company officers have been open about the company’s determination to become one of the largest gambling platforms in the world.
According to James Hollins, who is in brokerage at Daniel Stewart, the Party Gaming-Bwin merger would be “compelling” and would make the resulting company a powerhouse capable of competing with poker sites like Full Tilt Poker (www.fulltiltpoker.com) and Poker Stars (www.pokerstars.com).
In November 2009, Party Gaming purchased the World Poker Tour, which many in the industry saw as an attempt to bring Party Gaming back to the United States in a big way. Chief Marketing Officer, Chris Welch, confirmed that notion when he was quoted as saying, “This is the first step to us returning to the United States.”

Blackjack Dealer Scammer Goes Bust
November 24th, 2009 by OBO-admin
For the average person, going to play blackjack is a game of skill and luck. However, there are both legitimate methods of counting cards that are designed to make the game more skill than luck. Taking this to another level and scamming the casino, however, is illegal and is a form of fraud. Recently, a ring of blackjack scammers was busted in Chicago, with a dealer being one of those arrested.
The group responsible for this blackjack scam is a group called the “Tran organization” and their system was able to take 50,000 dollars from a casino in as little as ten minutes. While intricate, this system was easily implemented. The key was finding a blackjack dealer that was willing to take bribes. For these unscrupulous dealers, they would be sent to a location in Houston, Texas to learn how to make it seem like they were shuffling the cards at the blackjack table when they weren’t.
The conspirator at the table would pay attention to the cards dealt and using a hidden microphone and a cellular phone, would relay the cards to another person who put them into a computer program. This program would then tell the conspirators how much to bet on specific hands, because they would know which cards were about to be dealt.
This group had successfully operated at ten different casinos across the country. The dealer that was arrested had himself been responsible for over three quarter of a million dollars in illegally taken winnings from the Chicago casino he worked for.
While successful, the people playing were undisciplined and would also loose large amounts of money over the course of an evening. They would bribe anyone they needed to as well to make sure they weren’t caught, from dealers to pit bosses as well as witnesses, casino security staff members and even law enforcement.

Multi Touch Blackjack Table
November 21st, 2009 by OBO-admin
At the Las Vegas Global Gaming Expo MOTO showed off a multi-touch blackjack table. Players stand around the multi-touch blackjack table and are dealt cards by a virtual blackjack dealer. Blackjack players make all their moves by clicking buttons on the table. They can look at their blackjack by shielding the cards with their hands and the table senses this and reveals the cards.
This is similar to the virtual texas hold-em games like Heads-Up Challenge. Excalibur in Las Vegas uses similar technology to run their texas hold-em card room though as I was watching the game the players seemed to interact less and it was more like playing online rather then at a casino.
Hooters in Las Vegas offers virtual single player blackjack games though the games are usually empty. Players tend to want to play live and have some form of interaction with the dealer and other players. I don’t think this machine or any in the recent future will be able to replace dealers chips and old fashion shuffling.

Blackjack in Pennsylvania
October 7th, 2009 by OBO-admin
With US state governments scrambling to stay afloat with declining revenue from taxes the states have begun passing laws to either expand or start legalizing gambling. State house members in Pennsylvania are currently voting on a bill that would a legalize and tax table games at slot machines casinos.
Pennsylvania lawmakers are currently discussing the states tax rate on casinos take from the table games including poker and blackjack. The bill is being led by democrats but is facing opposition from Republican senators but many outside observers believe this bill has a good shot to make its way through both houses and become law.
This is similar to Colorado which recently voted to expand their casinos by allowing them to stay open 24 hours a day, increase betting limits to $100 and adding roulette and craps. After the law went into effect, Colorado casinos saw an instant increase in traffic as well as revenue…Pennsylvania lawmakers are hoping for a similar outcome.

MGM Blackjack iPhone APP
August 30th, 2009 by OBO-admin
MGM will soon be releasing a casino app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. MGM Grand at Foxwoods will be releasing the casino branded app with popular casino games as well as tours and information about the foxwoods casino property.
There will be no real money play for the iphone app, only play money games. This is the first app in the itunes store that is being used to promote a casino property and will likely not be the last if the application becomes popular.
MGM has not yet announced the games that will be available in the app but it is safe to say that most likely there will be a blackjack, slots and video poker game.
At Online Blackjack Odds, we think this is great for consumers and the companies involved. Hopefully someday there will be iPhone blackjack for real money but that all depends on legislation in the US as well as Apple’s policy on whether they would allow it.

Rushmore Casino becomes RushmoreOnline.com
April 9th, 2009 by OBO-admin
Rushmore Casino has officially changed its name to Rushmore Online. The change is likely because google had a penalty on the RushmoreCasino.com domain name. They were no where to be found when players searched for Rushmore Casino in google and I am sure it caused some brand confusion.
They have now decided to remedy the situation by changing their casino name to RushmoreOnline. The change has already gone into effect and players will still be able to type rushmorecasino.com into their browser but they will be automatically forwarded to rushmoreonline.com the new home of the casino.
Rushmore Online is one of the most popular RTG casinos and has some of the best deposit ratios for US players. They have one of the best support teams and have gained a lot of attention in the last year or so for their top notch online casino experience.
