Shuffle Master Creates New Blackjack Game with Strategy Side Bet

September 7th, 2012 by OBO-admin

Several online blackjack variants are associated with side bets, although blackjack players wonder why a side bet that pays in the range of 75 percent to 90 percent is required in the first place while a simple, straightforward game of blackjack pays anywhere in the range of 90 percent to 95 percent.

Side bets are successful because they give blackjack players the opportunity to win a large cash prize on one hand. Since the payouts on a side bet can be as low as 4 – 1 and as high as 1000 – 1, players can quickly convert a $5 bet into as much as $5000. Side bets are not associated with any strategy, owing to which the house has a low payout percentage for them.

Two months ago, Shuffle Master came up with blackjack variant called House Money, which has a strategy side bet, which means that players can actually improve their chances of winning it. While this is the only blackjack side bet of its kind with strategy, it hardly affects basic blackjack strategy.

The casinos in which House Money was demonstrated appear to have liked the idea, and the blackjack variant will be launched at Siena Hotel in Reno after two weeks.

Improving Your Chances of Winning at Blackjack Tables

August 22nd, 2012 by OBO-admin

Expert blackjack players are quite aware that several factors are responsible for winning a game of blackjack. Before sitting at a blackjack table, players must choose the best blackjack variant and the best gaming conditions. Smart players always choose a casino that offers the most player friendly gaming conditions.

The following are a few tips to help players choose the most favorable blackjack gaming conditions. The best blackjack variants are those that use single or double decks and the best blackjack casinos are those that do not use continuous shuffling machines. The most player friendly blackjack variants are those that offer late or early surrender options, double down options after splitting a pair of cards, and re-splitting options. The ideal blackjack variants are those in which the dealer has to stand on soft 17.

Next, players must master basic blackjack strategy, which is nothing but knowing exactly how to play one’s hand. If players learn to implement proper blackjack strategy, they can lower the house edge by at least 1 percent.

Players can use several betting strategies, but some blackjack experts recommend the progressive betting strategy, or in other words, increasing one’s bet size whenever one wins and do flat betting whenever one loses.

Blackjack Players Use Hand Signals and Other Tricks to Win

August 17th, 2012 by OBO-admin

Blackjack is a fun and exciting game to play; it is also highly lucrative and if one were to observe the current gambling trends, blackjack and tables games like poker have picked up and almost doubled in popularity over the past few years.

Ever since the movie “21” was released, blackjack enthusiasts have become more interested in beating the casino at its own game. Today, many blackjack players use tricks to win at the game and the casinos have tried to close in one these to eradicate cheating. One method of cheating as in the movie 21 is the use of hand signals.

However, some casinos now require players to learn the use of particular hand signals to indicate to the camera what they want from the dealer. Since the use of uniform hand signals will prevent any possible scope for misuse and cheating, this has come to be useful.

For instance some blackjack players swipe their hands in certain ways to indicate to their partners at the table whether to play safe or to ask for another card.

Sometime the dealer will move very fast at the table and this allows casinos to gain an edge over the player. However, players who are unnerved by this rapid play can opt to slow signal and this will cut the speed.

Harry Reid Struggles to Keep Gaming Coalition Together

August 15th, 2012 by OBO-admin

The Justice Department’s new interpretation of the Wire Act may be a double edged sword for Harry Reid and supporters of his bill. The new stance on the legality of online gaming has given states the right to pass their own bills to regulate the industry. This has made lawmakers in Washington feel the need to take immediate action on passing a bill.

At the same time, the DOJ’s new view on the Wire Act has made it difficult for Reid to create a unified coalition to legalize online gaming. Senators from a number of states are looking to legalize online gaming as a means of generating revenue and creating new jobs. These senators are likely to be supporters of a federal bill that would set consistent standards across the country. Lawmakers in Nevada, California and Delaware are all looking for a bill that would legalize online gaming at the national level.

Reid realizes he needs to approach the bill carefully. He can’t threaten the prosperity any of those states stand to gain from online gaming without losing the support of those senators.

Additionally, Reid needs to safeguard the interests of Native American tribes. Many tribes have finally started to show support for online gaming and Reid can’t afford to lose that. Most of these same tribes were adamantly opposed to legalizing online gaming last year. They have since become staunch advocates for a bill that would benefit them. However, Reid could easily lose their support if he fails to fulfill their wishes.

According to many experts, Reid’s bill would clarify the principles of the Wire Act and make all forms of online gaming other than online poker illegal. This could alienate many states that are looking to launch online lotteries and other forms of online gaming.

According to some experts, these changes would not apply to any state that passes these laws before Reid’s bill would. They are encouraging lawmakers from these states to make haste in their efforts to legalize other forms of online gaming. They may only have a short window before the opportunity disappears forever.
