Blackjack Operations Shutdown in Blue Mountain Casino in Washington

April 10th, 2013 by OBO-admin

The Blue Mountain Casino in Walla Walla, WA recently announced that it was closing up its Blackjack operations due to financial constraints. The Casino said that it was shutting down a significant portion of its gambling operations because the tables are not bringing in sufficient revenue and in the interests of the business, the Blackjack operations at the Casino had to be wound up.

Pat Jutz the owner of the casino stated that, starting this week, the Casino will no longer offer Blackjack games as all 5 of its existing blackjack tables will be removed. Jutz plans to replace the existing blackjack tables with either pool tables or clear the space so that it can be used as a dance floor.

Jutz said that the main reason behind the decision to shut down the blackjack tables was because of two factors. One was the fact that the economy was still recovering which meant that there was less money being spent by players and the second factor was that due to the constant hikes in minimum wage, it was difficult to continue supporting the staff’s salaries.

Due to the shutting down of the blackjack tables, Jutz estimates that around 25 staff could be affected.

Casino LaVida to Launch New European Blackjack Redeal

April 8th, 2013 by OBO-admin

Casino LaVida is going to launch a brand new blackjack variant for its loyal blackjack customers.

Speaking about the move, Victoria Lamonte, promotions manager at Casino LaVida said that the casino always offers its players the latest Microgaming rollouts, which usually happen to be slot machine games. While most online casinos launch new slot machine games on a regular basis, it is rare for an online casino to launch new table games. This is because gamblers prefer playing traditional table games and tend to ignore the newer variants.

Lamonte said that Microgaming will roll out a new variant of blackjack in April and Casino LaVida is excited about offering the game to its loyal blackjack customers.

Microgaming’s new blackjack variant is called European Blackjack Redeal, an improvement of its immensely popular European Blackjack game. Though based on the standard rules of European Blackjack, the game is unique because players can request the croupier to deal their hand and even the dealer’s hand once again if they are not happy with the cards already dealt. Players can also request a re-deal of their last card.

The game allows a maximum of five re-deals per player. While some re-deals are charged, some are absolutely free.

Security of Android mobile gaming drops

April 2nd, 2013 by OBO-admin

Based on the recent findings of the Cisco 2013 Annual Security Report, the security of
mobile gambling on the Android platform has dropped when compared to what it was
12 months ago. Nevertheless, it is still safe to go online and play your favorite online
blackjack or online poker games as long as you are cautious at all times.

One of the reasons for a drop in security is because the overall number of Android
malware encounters has grown exponentially by 2,577% in 2012. While those numbers
do appear scary, they nevertheless account for only a mere 0.5% of online malware
prevalence.

The report cautions online gambling enthusiasts to be careful at all times. Players were
encouraged to trust their instincts and not click on a link, especially if they have a doubt
about the same. Players were also encouraged to play only on trusted casino websites or
visit recommendations that come in from a reputed source.

Even when you go to websites that are recommended or popular, do not presume that
third party advertising on these websites are safe to click on. It is better for you to be
cautious at all times and also to invest in reliable protection.
