Golden Nugget Charity Blackjack Tourney Raises $5,000 for DARE

The Double Down with Don Johnson Charity Blackjack Tournament, which was held recently in New Jersey’s Atlantic City, has succeeded in raising $5,000 for Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE).

The winner was a team hailing from Soundgarden Hall in Philadelphia, which nominated DARE as the charity to receive $5,000 from the casino that organized the charity blackjack tournament, Golden Nugget.

Don Johnson, who had won a huge sum of $5.5 million last year, might not have been that lucky this year, but he donated $10,000 of his own money to St. Ephrem School.

The blackjack charity tournament was held at the Golden Nugget Casino’s Haven Nightclub and as many as 12 people registered for it. The presence of celebrity Don Johnson was definitely a plus point for Golden Nugget Casino. Now that New York is on the verge of launching a new casino, Atlantic City casinos are devising all sorts of ways to promote their offerings and products and deal with the competition.

Don Johnson, a businessman based in Pennsylvania, had won $15 million playing blackjack at Atlantic City casinos over the last few months. He won $5 million of it in Borgata and $4 million of it in Caesars.
