History of the Monte Carlo Las Vegas
The Monte Carlo Resort and Casino located in Las Vegas offers 3,002 hotel rooms including 259 luxury suites. The hotel is modeled after the Place du Casino in Monte Carlo and includes such notable features as marble floors, chandelier domes, promenades and neoclassical arches.
Highlights of the resort include regular performances by Lance Burton, a shopping mall, spa and fitness center and tennis courts. There is also a wave pool and lazy river.
Construction on the hotel was begun in the spring of 1995. At the time it was planned to be called the Grand Victoria; however, it was eventually shortened to Victoria and finally completely changed to Monte Carlo.
The hotel shopping center is comprised of more than 22,00o square feet while the pool area covers 21,000 square feet.
