History of Tropicana in Las Vegas
The Tropicana remains as a classic Vegas hotel featuring tropical landscaping, lagoons and waterfalls. The resort is well known for its many adult diversions including famous showgirls, lounges and one of the longest running production shows in Vegas, Folies Bergere.
Amenities offered throughout the hotel include a gourmet champagne brunch, a swim-up blackjack table and much more. The casino covers 61,000 square feet of space and offers numerous card and table games as well as a 24-seat race and sports book.
The Tropicana was originally constructed in 1957. In 1979, the Paradise Tower, comprised of 21 floors of suites and guest rooms, was added. The 22-story Island Tower was built in 1986.
Today, the hotel is one of the oldest hotels remaining on the strip and boasts a total of 1,876 well appointed rooms.
Entertainment venues and attractions include Bodies…The Exhibition and Titanic, the Artifact Exhibit. The Tropicana also offers a five acre pool area beautifully landscaped in tropical style as well as a health club located inside the Island Spa.
Guests can enjoy numerous dining options including Legends Steak & Seafood, Tuscany Italian Care, Mizunos, Garden Café, Island Buffet, Java Java and Player’s Deli.
