History of the Mirage
The Mirage is one of the most well known hotels, most notably for its Siegfried and Roy show. The hotel is currently owned by MGM Mirage and was originally built by Steve Wynn. The Mirage opened in November of 1989 on the grounds where the former Castaways hotel and casino resided. . The Mirage is connected to its sister property, Treasure Island, by a free tram.
When it was constructed The Mirage was the most expensive hotel at the time. Construction costs reached $630 million. Distinctive gold windows, constructed of actual gold, lends to the notability of the hotel.
Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat is one of the most well known attractions of The Mirage along with an artificial volcano that erupts from time to time during the evenings. A Cirque du Soleil theatrical production, LOVE, also makes its home at The Mirage.
Guests enter through waterfalls surrounded by exotic flora and a bridge situated under a 90 foot high glass atrium. The front desk area features a 20,000 gallon saltwater aquarium housing 60 different species of tropical fish. Guests can revel in a beautiful pool area or enjoy a visit to the world class spa. Numerous restaurants are also available throughout the hotel. The Mirage offers 3,044 hotel rooms.
Mirage Blackjack
Still waiting to get the mirage blackjack information. I can’t get a hold of anyone at the casino but when I visit Las Vegas next I will post all of the blackjack games and rules.
