History of the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas
Mandalay Bay is located directed on the Las Vegas Strip and soars to 39 stories. The four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas uses the top five floors of the main hotel building.
Mandalay Bay offers 3,309 hotel rooms along with a casino consisting of 135,000 square feet. Adjacent to the hotel, the Mandalay Bay Convention Center boasts nearly one million feet of additional space. Events ranging from boxing to concerts have been held inside the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
Mandalay Bay offers two heated pools along with a topless pool, lazy river, wave pool and even a small waterfall. Two restaurants are located at the 11 acre Mandalay Beach. The pool at the Beach has been voted as the “Best Pool of Las Vegas” for the 7th year in a row.
Inside guests will find a tropical Asian theme that takes its inspiration from Kipling’s poem, Mandalay. Guests will enjoy a saltwater aquarium, Shark Reef and the third largest tank in North America. The House of Blues offers live music while 24 restaurants and cafes catering to every dining taste imaginable.
The property was previously occupied by the Hacienda, which was imploded in December of 1996 in order to provide space for Mandalay Bay. The hotel and resort opened in March of 1999.
