History of the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas
The Imperial Palace is located centrally on the Strip and is known for offering affordable rooms and fun attractions and shows. Entertainment venues and attractions include The Auto Collections and Legends in Concerts. Both of these shows have been strong attractions at The Imperial Palace for more than a decade. The Auto Collections is currently the largest classic auto show in the world, featuring more than $100 million in inventory, with more than 250 cars on display.
Guests can also enjoy gaming in the large casino, where dealers are celebrity impersonators.
The Imperial Palace also offers a number of other amenities including several restaurants and lounges, a Zen-inspired spa and Japanese style touches scattered throughout the facility.
The casino is 75,000 square feet including a 290 seat race and sports book featuring 262 televisions and 222 big screens.
The Imperial Palace is currently owned by Harrah’s Entertainment. From 1959 to 1979 the property where the hotel resides was known as Flamingo Capri. It was renamed Imperial Palace in 1979 when purchased by Ralph Engelstad. The property underwent a major renovation in 1988 including the addition of an 18 story tower. Harrah’s Entertainment purchased the property in 2005.
